The Midwest Implant Institute is distinguished by individual instruction for every doctor and staff member. Therefore, to maintain the reputation and training experience of the Midwest Implant Institute, the institute limits classroom sizes to meet the demanding individualized attention for which the institute is nationally recognized.
Introduction to Implant Surgery and Restoration (301)
The Midwest Implant Institute offers the Introduction to Implant Surgery and Restoration (301) in biannual sessions for the year 2010.
Within the Introduction to Implant Surgery and Restoration (301), the participant will review multiple facets of implant dentistry. The instructional and hands-on foundation includes the basic anatomy and tissue management for simple implant placement. Diagnosis and treatment planning give the doctor knowledge in planning for implant treatment. Reasons for implant thread design and internal prosthetic components of different systems are discussed. Bone spreading and rotary instrumentation is demonstrated in maxillary and mandibular bone as well as discussion of bone grafting techniques. Hands-on placement of implants in technique models allows the participant to get a tactile feel for the ease of placing implants. Assistants role in serving the doctor during surgery as well as post-operatively with the patient are discussed. Future of dentistry and demographics show that implant treatment is the fastest growing segment of a dental practice. Participants will learn the Midwest Implant Institute Externship Program Requirements.
The Midwest Implant Institute offers the Implant Team Training for Doctor and Staff (302) in biannual sessions for the year 2010.
Sterile technique for implantology: protocol and documentation for treatment planning and proper patient onsent, surgical template construction. 302 will allow time to do proper Diagnosis and Treatment Planning with dental mplants, construction of proper useful surgical stents by Doctor/staff, Doctor/staff use of sterile technique to get predictable results, Hands-on implant placement in artificial mandibles utilizing staff to help the doctor place the implants correctly, Incorporating proper suturing techniques for better tissue closure, How to talk to patients about the benefits of dental implants, Oral hygiene responsibility of patient and staff members, MII Protocol of preparing Doctor/staff/ their patient with dental implant treatment at MII facility
The Midwest Implant Institute offers the Introduction to Implant Prosthetics (305) in biannual sessions for the year 2010.
Even if you don't do surgery, learn how to restore so you keep your patient in your practice. Teaches the different basic concepts and the types of prosthetics components from different implant systems.
This is a hands-on prosthetic course allowing the participants to handle several different implant prosthetic
components. Live patients will be observed using different implant prosthetic modalities.
Course designed to learn the simple prosthetic procedures of several systems, which
will allow participating dentist to treat patients that come to their office with broken
prosthetic components that need emergency treatment. Keep implant prosthetic problems in your own office. Become proficient with improving implant esthetics
This course covers the prosthetic protocols for most of the main implant systems, and the
generic protocols to allow you to:

Serve prosthetic needs of new patients who already have dental implants

Topics included for Doctor/Staff (552):
All of the same items included in course 551, except the Extern will place the endosseous implants and
perform bone grafting with his/her own staff assistants under close supervision.
Externs and staff will be graded during these implant placement and bone grafting procedures.
Requirements:
1. SURGICALLY PLACE AT LEAST ONE MAXILLARY ANTERIOR AND ONE
POSTERIOR IMPLANT USING THE BONE SPREADING TECHNIQUE.
2. SURGICALLY PLACE AT LEAST ONE MANDIBULAR SINGLE IMPLANT.
3. SURGICALLY PLACE FOUR IMPLANTS IN SYMPHYSIS FOR BAR OVER-DENTURE PATIENT (Two implants can
be placed if patient prefers because of expense)
How and when to graft (and when not to). Which bone grafting material to use when one thread or 3 threads are showing at implant placement. Does non-resorbable or resorbable tissue barrier get the best results? Types of graft materials, use of PRP and other adjuncts. Bring your own patients for hands on surgery.
